Superman was in the news in late April (2011), because he renounced his citizenship as an American citizen, and proclaimed himself to be more of a globalist. Less than a week later, the floodwaters rose in Metropolis, Illniois (near Cairo), causing untold heartache and damage.
Unfortunately, Metropolis has never had the available cash to build a levee around their own little River City.
And now their favorite son – Superman – is no longer an American hero.
Perhaps it’s time to change the engraving on the base of Superman’s statue to, “Truth, Justice and the United Nation’s Way.”
Seems more fitting, and incredibly sad.
